DJ John Lawrence: DJ John has been a DJ in the Philadelphia market since 2005 receiving rave reviews. When we discovered John, he was a Banquet Manager and Maitre' D for one of Philly's busiest venues from 1996 to 2005. Bob the owner asked him to work for him every time Bob played there and knew he had plenty of wedding experience and had the temperament for the job as a DJ & MC since he worked 100's of weddings already. In 2005, he immediately shadowed Bob for a few years at weddings then became the GM for East Coast Event Group until 2013, when he landed a great paying gig as Licensed Banker with one of the largest banks in America. His love of music and entertaining with personality and class lead him to him being one of our most requested entertainers.
Lauren H ... John was our DJ and he provided me with the best night of dancing I’ve ever had! I’m an old soul and am not a big fan of music beyond the 80’s, and John adhered to my tastes perfectly. He put together a great musical time progression from the 40’s through the 80’s and incorporated most of my suggested songs. Neither I nor my husband has ever danced so much in our lives! I got a ton of compliments from my family and friends about how enjoyable the music selection was and some said it was one of the best receptions they’ve ever attended. He also successfully incorporated my love of Disney songs and showtunes into the dinner. Most importantly, John managed to get me and my husband acting like extroverts for an evening, which is a big feat!

Amber ... East Coast Event Group was highly recommended to us by friends, and we are very glad we followed the recommendation! John was the DJ for our wedding on July 5, and he was fantastic! We spoke to him on the phone a few days before our wedding, and gave him an idea of what we wanted. Our main wishes were to keep a good flow to the evening without too many interruptions, and to keep the dance floor full all night. John delivered on both! He listened to what we wanted and our description of the guests, and chose the perfect music to keep everyone dancing all evening, young and less young alike. He arrived before the event with plenty of time to spare, just as he'd promised. He was very professional and friendly, and clearly enjoys his job, which is a huge plus. He also didn't draw tons of attention to himself with announcements and commentary, but just let the music play and the guests dance. Lots of people commented to me that he did a great job, and we agree! It was a fantastic evening! John was excellent, and I would recommend him and East Coast Event Group to anyone!
Mary ... We had John at East Coast as our DJ. He was super nice and professional. He also had a great announcing voice for introducing the bridal party. He was great at judging the crowd and determining what music to play. The dance floor was packed all night and we had several guests rave about how it was the most fun wedding they had ever been to. East Coast was also the most affordable option we looked at.

Valerie S. (Mother of the Bride) ... Here is what I wrote to their president:
It’s not often enough that we take the time to let a company know how one of their employees went above and beyond their job description. This past Saturday, my daughter’s wedding was held at the Independence Seaport Museum. As John Lawrence the DJ was setting up, he noticed the panic on my face as I was wondering where my photo booth vendor was, it was not an ECEG Booth. As best laid plans go, the PhotoBooth Company we booked never showed. Here’s the “hero” part. John suggested that he try to find a photo booth for us. Several hundred phone calls later…he came through, East Coast Photo Booth showed up! By 9p.m. there was a line waiting for pix and a video. The bride was unaware of the problem until the next day. Not having a photo booth at the event may not have been such a big deal. There were 2 factors that made it one. First of all, the one item that Laura really wanted was a photo booth. Secondly, all of the escort cards were in photo booth frames saying…”enjoy the photo booth…smile and say “married”! Yeah…people would have noticed it was missing. Oh…by the way…he’s also an awesome DJ. I have the blisters on my feet from dancing all night to prove it. Let’s not forget the photo booth guy Shane from East Coast Photo Booths for saving the day.:) |
Tracy ... My husband and I had such an amazing experience with EastCoast!! Planning a wedding is full of unknowns and worry, but EastCoast helped put some of that to rest! We felt extremely comfortable and confident in our decision to book them! On the big day John Morawski was our DJ and he rocked it! Not only was it our wedding reception but also a New Years Eve celebration and John kept the party going from beginning to end! We can't wait for an excuse to book with EastCoast again!!! Amanda ... We loved our DJ, John. We had a wide age group and he kept everyone dancing. He played everything we requested on our play list, was a wonderful MC and very professional. I gave him a big hug when the night was over. He was outstanding. East Coast was wonderful to work with and would recomend them to others.

Laura Detrick ... Best DJs and Photobooths!
We used East Coast Event Group for our uplights too, with DJ John Lawrence, and a Photobooth for our wedding. DJ John was top notch! He kept the night on track, made sure that everyone was introduced correctly during their walk-ins, and his music selections truly had something for every age group! The mirror photobooth was super unique and everyone absolutely LOVED it. And the uplights really took our venue to the next level. We are so happy we used this vendor and we 100% recommend! |
