DANCING ON AIR
is still alive after 30 years,
a different concept and a different name called "Saturday Morning Fever".
East Coast Event Group was asked a few years back to be a part of the "30 Year Anniversary Celebration" on WPHL Channel 17 where Michael Nise (the creator of the show) wanted to reproduce the good old days with a modern feel of music and lights. We are proud the legacy continues with a different, "I mean different" version of Dancing On Air. Even though we are not involved with the new show, the Fuse network and it's producers look like they did an awesome job with some the original 2012 cast members, featuring Casey Reed, Michael Pericoloso, Ian Eagle Ashanti, Deanna Marie, Gina Zettler, Rogelio Gonzalez, Marissa Rivera, Nicole Zell, Tina DeCara to name a few.
So here we are today with another twist of the show's debut being aired on Wednesday, January 27th, 2016 at 11:00pm on the FUSE network, looks great, don't miss it. See below for more information and the history of the show along with previews of Saturday Morning Fever. We wish the creator, the staff and the cast, best of luck:)
Tune into Fuse's website at http://www.fuse.tv/shows/saturday-morning-fever on Wednesday, January 27th, at 11:30am, after "Saturday Morning Fever," for a full episode of Dancin' On Air (OFFICIAL).

East Coast DJs Network Television Debut
Dancin' On Air Re-BroadcastedIn early 2012, the legendary TV Show 'Dancin' On Air' was poised to make a come back to the Philadelphia airwaves after 20 years for an anniversary season with an all new cast, music and moves. Dancin' On Air broadcast live from October 12, 1981 to December 31, 1987. It paved the way for many many popular youth and teen variety shows, often compared to American Bandstand.
Many of the biggest performing acts of their day stopped by the DOA set to perform like Madonna, The Sugar Hill Gang, Tupac Shakur and Philadelphia's own legendary DJ Jazzy Jeff just to name a few. Dancin' On Air was and always will be a part of Television and local history as it opened a positive outlet for local youths, shed positive light on Philadelphia and the surrounding areas, and provided a platform for people to express themselves. Dancin' On Air featured local acts and talent such as Grammy Nominated artists The Exchange, Tina DeCara, Phillies & Sixers dance teams and VMA Award wining group DACAV5 performed on the show with East Coast DJ Josiah each week. It's been a long time since Philadelphia's talent have been able to share the same stage. Philadelphia's leading radio station Wired 96.5 co-signed the show and featured there on air personalities each week on the show. Each week Wired 96.5 would bring regular on air DJs by to play the final 'Megamix' segment. DJs Yonny, Vito G, Beatstreat and Transit all brought great energy. Dancin' On Air DJ's & Hosts
DJ Josiah
With a fresh breath of life Dancin' On Air set out to do just that plus much more when it made its return to WPHL 17, filming at The Fuge in Warminster. Regulars such as Kelly Ripa and Mike Rossi were swapped out for a new crop of hungry talents and DJ Jazzy Jeff has Philadelphia's next on his heels now. In the internet age, there are many television shows never are able to get off of the ground, the staying power of Dancin' On Air's brand was enough to accomplish this amazing feat alone.
In order to produce a 13 episode season, top-tier talent and design are necessities. Stellar East Coast DJ Josiah received the nod as the weekly in-house DJ. As a traditional turntable DJ Josiah possesses a keen and intuitive mixing style accompanied with a grasp of music spanning a wide number of genres and times that made him the ideal choice. The show allowed him to showcase his creativity and ingenuity as he produced set lighting as well. Anthony Veneri, another stand-out East coast DJ, known for his infectious personality and charm established himself as the clear front runner as the shows regular host, introducing guests and segments each week. The dynamic duo of Anthony Franzzo (DJ ZO) & Billy Stewart provided life to the set. Asside from providing talent, East Coast was able to showcase high end production, lighting and media displays available to you. The Show was a wonderful experience for the entire East Coast Staff. We were able to create wonderful relationships and got a chance to show the world how we feel about ourselves, that we are a first class company through and through. If you are planning and event and would like to reserve one of the DJs mentioned above, put their name in the the comments section of when you request a quote. |
